Hello beauty lovers!
Today’s review is all about this colour bug madness. It promises
a change of color without the actual commitment, it is basically a hair chalk
that washes off in the first hair wash after application.
I got mine in the July Goodiebox and I was so excited about
trying it with the risk of looking like a teenager. I thought that just for one
use it is worth it.
On the youtube video he says to apply it over a base, at
some point he uses dry shampoo and apply the colour bug on top of it, to create
a more pastel shade.
I did not want to use it on anything, especially being the
first time; I just wanted to see how it behaves on my hair without any other
product on it. I have blonde hair and usually any color will easily be picked
up.
It was a good choice I made because… this product made my hair so
unbearable, so tangled, so dry, just imagine putting it on top of dry shampoo(which
is another powdery and drying product)… what a disappointment.., and what a
mess I have made all around me, the sing, the clothes, my skin… I know you are supposed
to use a towel underneath but every time I would touch it (and since it was
loose it was all the time touching my neck and shoulders) I would pick up color
all over me.
Obviously do not go to bed with chalk in your hair, you will
make a mess. I washed it and noticed the color has not 100% disappeared and I
did insist, shampoo+rinse+shampoo+rinse+condition.
Apart from the fact that my hair is now a shade of light
pink(the camera does not do it justice), it did a number on it as well since it looks more damaged. On the plus
side, it gave volume to the hair so there’s that..
Tip! If your hair tolerates it try to use hair spray to fix
it. The state my hair was in, if I added hair spray I would have doubled the
damage…
Tip! Don’t use it on freshly washed hair, you will have to
wash it before going to bed anyway so why cause more dryness to the hair?
Conclusion:It will give you volume since it’s powder but also dryness
therefore damage.
I don’t regret using it, I might use it again (if I want to
feel like a teenager jk or if I am going somewhere and I want to impress) but I
would not purchase it myself.
